The Fetherston Vintners 2019 'Peony' Rosé is crafted from 67% Pinot Noir, 21% Syrah and 12% Nebbiolo. The majority of this fruit was biologically grown by Fetherston Vintners in Yarra Glen, with a small component sourced from Yellingbo in the Upper Yarra. Hand-picked in early March 2019, this wine was fermented wild in neutral French oak barriques. It spent 3 months on lees in barrel with regular stirring prior to release.
Pale copper in colour, this wine displays aromas of sweet white blooms, blackcurrant, sherbet, vanilla and freshly cut grass. Bone dry and elegantly structured, the palate is tight and taut with elements of white mulberry, pepper and delicate spice.

'So very nicely done. It's pale, has a bit of tangerine tang, but slides along soft, cool and gently creamy. Light aniseed perfume, redcurrant and spice, a fine peppery texture, and a clean long finish. Lovely composition. Classy drinking.'

'Pinot noir, syrah and nebbiolo. A collective saignee from multiple ferments, fermented wild in old French oak. Looks appealing in the glass with a pale and bright salmon-pink hue. Aromas and flavours of red berries, but with a savoury feel, and not a 'fruity' style. Mouthfilling in a textural way, with good length on the palate and a long fresh finish.'
