VINEYARD:  Tibooburra, Yellingbo, Upper Yarra Valley

WINEMAKING:  Single vineyard wine from the acclaimed Tibooburra vineyard. 18-year-old, PT23 clone vines, handpicked on the 15th March. 50% whole bunches, 5 days of cold soak, fermented wild with minimal cap management. All up, the wine saw 27 days on skins. Pressed to French oak barriques and puncheons (20% new) and matured for eight months before bottling in December 2019.

TASTING NOTES:  Vibrant deep purple in colour, this sexy Syrah delivers complex aromas of black cherry, bramble, chocolate and sweet herbs. The palate is silky and plush with ripe plums, cedar, cold drip coffee and fine, assertive tannins.

  • 'Whole-bunch aromas/flavours tumble through black cherry, plum, sweet herb and roasted nut flavours. There’s a whole lot of joy to be had here but only if you’re a fan of bunchy, mescal-infused versions of shiraz. The fruit here is alive with freshness, the tannin so grapey it feels (in a positive sense) raw. Smoky, cedarwood oak plays a role here too, and a complementary one. This takes on the bunch-driven style of shiraz with gusto.'
