VINEYARDS:

Highbow Hill, Yarra Glen (Yarra Valley) Victoria (51%)

Tibooburra, Yellingbo (Upper Yarra Valley) Victoria (20%)

Hutchinson, Yarra Glen (Yarra Valley) Victoria (16%)

Swallowfield, Gembrook (Upper Yarra Valley) Victoria (13%)

WINEMAKING: Sourced from a number of Yarra Valley vineyards, fermented in small batches with different treatments (carbonic maceration, partial whole-bunch and whole berry fermentations utilising optical sorting). 67% of the fruit comes from the valley floor and 33% from the Upper Yarra. The final blend equates to 15% whole bunches and 6% new oak, with the residual balance matured in French oak puncheons and barriques from 2nd to 4th fill. The wine saw four months on lees in barrel prior to bottling in August 2021.

TASTING NOTES: Bright ruby in colour, this vibrant Pinot Noir displays aromas of cherry ripe, raspberry coulis and autumnal leaves with hints of cassia bark. The palate has the perfect balance of sweet and savoury, woven with ripe strawberries, cherry pip, bay leaf and slate. The tannins are silky and fine with beautifully integrated oak.

  • 'Gee, this wine really pops. Cherry and raspberry, spicy and meaty, a carbonic cherry lolly and floral top note. It’s light and frisky, crisp cranberry acidity, gentle lick of graphite tannin, sappy and firm, but playful too. Finish is dry, with some spice and sappy dried sage/thyme flavours. Excellent, and almost like a Gamay, in a way. A wine made for lusty drinking pleasure, but with a little complexity laid on too.'
