VINEYARDS: Cabernet - Yering Grange, Yering (Yarra Valley), Victoria
Malbec - Sunshine Creek, Yarra Glen (Yarra Valley), Victoria
WINEMAKING: Single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from 33-year-old vines. The hand-picked fruit was destemmed and optically sorted in the winery, but not crushed (whole-berries). After cold-soaking, fermentation and a little extended maceration (20 days on skins in total), the must was pressed off to second-fill French oak barriques, for three months élevage prior to bottling in August 2022.
TASTING NOTES: Deep crimson ruby in colour, this vibrant Cabernet blend displays aromas of mocha, cedar, blackcurrant and blackberry with hints of marzipan. The palate is luscious and seductive with ripe plum and whispers of spice. The tannins are silky and fine with a long, balanced finish. Drinking beautifully now, this wine has a long life ahead.

2022 Fetherston 'Camellia' Cabernet Malbec
'Three weeks on skins then pressed to neutral barriques. Bright crimson purple. Very bright aromas, too, with a bouquet of freshly picked blackberries, morello cherries, pink peppercorns and a little nutmeg. Easygoing and quite delicious, this light- to medium-bodied wine has soft, gentle grippy tannins and is the ideal barbecue wine.'

- Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion'Very elegant mix of fruit, dark cherry, blackberry and black currant. Hints of leather, cedar, chocolate and mint, all comfortably sit atop. It has a velvety texture with ripe bright fruit rolling along. Finishes on a finely ground coffee and black currant lift of acidity. Medium-bodied at most and oh-so-very elegant. Great value.'
