Five days cold soak, fermented wild and pressed off to skins shortly after primary fermentation. Malolactic fermentation in barrel. Seven months élevage in French oak barriques and puncheons (12% new).

TASTING NOTES: Vibrant ruby in colour, delivering aromas of red cherry, raspberry, petrichor, baking spices and wild herbs. The palate is light to medium weight with bright acidity, showing flavours of cranberry, dried cherry, sour plum and bay.

  • 'Hand-picked fruit from six Yarra Valley sites, all clone MV6. Matured for seven months in barriques and puncheons (12% new). A vibrant cherry red. Brightly fruited and immediately engaging with its aromas of red and black fruits, rose, potpourri and incense. It's bright and crunchy fruited on the palate, too, with lively acidity and gently grippy tannins making for a moreish and refreshing mouthful. A great food wine that could easily be served slightly chilled on a warm day, too.'

'Violet, rosehip tea, blueberry, raspberry, meaty nuance. Ethereal, translucent juice that is mostly red-fruited. Blood orange tang of acidity and tart currants tension. There's wet forest floor echoing in the background. It's a textural wine with granitic-stoney but prickly feel of tannins and a gentle peppery spice to finish. Lovely tension and vibrancy.'
