VINEYARD:  Bettio Vineyard, King Valley, Victoria

WINEMAKING:  Single vineyard albariño from the King Valley. Machine harvested, then optically sorted in the winery before spending six days on skins where wild fermentation commenced. Pressed off to neutral French barriques and puncheons for the duration of primary fermentation. Aged on lees for four months prior to bottling in August 2022.

TASTING NOTE:  Lemon yellow in colour, this wine delivers aromas of nashi pear, honeysuckle and finger lime with hints of tarragon. The palate is tantalising with lemon sorbet, sea spray, bright acidity and gorgeous minerality. There’s a lick of spice from skin contact and an umami edge to the finish.

PEAK DRINKING:  Present - 2025

  • 'Loads of character here, elevating the variety nicely. Preserved lemon, ginger notes, slightly buttery element to texture and flavour in a way, some quince paste character too. Feels good to sip on, quietly complex, pushing to medium weight yet refreshing. Ticking boxes.'

'Mostly stainless-steel tank fermentation with a small portion fermented wild in neutral oak puncheons and barriques. A full, bright green gold. This almost leaps out of the glass with pungent and attractive aromas of fresh guava, lemon oil and lime. Packed with flavour, there's enough grip on the finish to give it some shape and structure. A well-priced and very good summer barbecue white.'
