VINEYARD: Malakoff Estate Vineyard, Landsborough (Pyrenees), Victoria
WINEMAKING: Single vineyard Nebbiolo rosé from the ruggedly beautiful Pyrenees region in north western Victoria. Hand-picked at 12.5 baume and whole bunch pressed to neutral French barriques. Fermented wild and underwent partial malolactic fermentation in barrel. Aged on lees for five months prior to bottling in September 2023.
TASTING NOTES: Rose gold in colour, this vibrant rosé has a complex and delicately perfumed nose with aromas of summer berries, rose petal, kaffir lime and exotic spice. The palate is woven with quince and white mulberry characters, delicate salinity and a savoury edge. Gorgeous mid-palate creaminess and just enough phenolics to tantalise.

2023 Fetherston 'Peony' Nebbiolo Rosé
'A single-vineyard wine from Malakoff Vineyard, whole-bunch pressed to neutral barriques. A pale, bright salmon pink. Savoury red fruits, mountain herbs and floral notes abound in this flavoursome, mouth-filling and refreshing wine.'

'Dry, pale, gently savoury and refreshing. This doesn't push too hard in any direction but it's well balanced, well finished, well textured and appreciably savoury, or at least savoury in the right areas. It drinks well.'
