2023 Fetherston 'Sakura' Syrah Nebbiolo
VINEYARD: Malakoff Estate, Landsborough (Pyrenees), Victoria 
 
WINEMAKING:  Single vineyard Syrah (60%) Nebbiolo (40%) from Malakoff Estate Vineyard, Pyrenees VIC. The Syrah was harvested on 12th April. Five days cold soak, pressed off skins after a total of 19 days to neutral French barriques and puncheons. The Nebbiolo was hand-harvested on 10th May. Destemmed and optically sorted. Fermented in a large format oak cuve, and pressed off skins after 19 days to neutral barriques. Blended and bottled in December 2023.

  • 'A light, bright ruby red. Aromatic with cherries, spice, some leather and mountain herbs. A nice each-way bet between being sweetly fruited but also having some savoury, well-balanced nebbiolo tannins. A tidy mid-week pasta wine.'
