VINEYARD: Malakoff Estate, Landsborough (Pyrenees), Victoria
WINEMAKING: Single vineyard blend of Syrah (60%) and Nebbiolo (40%) from Malakoff Estate vineyard. The Syrah was wild-fermented in large format French oak (3,500l) and pressed off skins after 14 days to neutral barriques and puncheons. The hand-picked Nebbiolo was fermented wild and saw 21 days on skins prior to pressing. Both parcels spent six months in neutral oak prior to blending and bottling in December 2023.
TASTING NOTES: Bright ruby in colour, this charismatic wine is beautifully perfumed with aromas of red cherries, anise, vanilla and petrichor. The palate offers the yin and yang of silky sweetness and taut, earthy savouriness, woven with blood plum and slate. A versatile, BBQ friendly wine for any occasion or season.

2023 Fetherston 'Sakura' Syrah Nebbiolo
'A light, bright ruby red. Aromatic with cherries, spice, some leather and mountain herbs. A nice each-way bet between being sweetly fruited but also having some savoury, well-balanced nebbiolo tannins. A tidy mid-week pasta wine.'
